Galatians 5:22-23 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
Benefits of Physical Fruit
-Pleasant to look at, smell, taste, convenient snack
-Nourishing
-Contains vitamins, immune boosting properties to build strong, healthy bodies
-Greatly reduce risk of heart disease, stroke, birth defects, and even cancer
-In nature, not only does the tree’s fruit provide food for people and animals; the fruit that falls close to the tree and remains there to decay returns vital nutrients to the soil that strengthen the tree and promote more growth. So, the more fruit produced, the greater the benefit to the tree itself.
“Seed container”
-As far as the tree is concerned, this is the most important function of the fruit!
-Fruit houses and protects the seed (new life) inside
-It also acts as a vehicle to disperse the seeds to fertile ground so new plants can grow
-God has shown His creative genius in designing many ways for seeds to be dispersed by varying the design of the fruit, some even float on the ocean to travel across continents
Benefits of Spiritual Fruit
-Pleasant for others to be around, peace and joy make us happier too, shining the Light of Christ is an instant face lift!
-Nourishing:
-Boosts immunity against Satan’s attacks for those around us
-Promotes heart health, healthy child development, and protection against the “cancer” of sin
-Not only does it benefit others, but the more fruit we produce, the more we are nourished spiritually and thus, the more fruitful we become!
-“Seed container”
-Our FRUIT houses and protects the gospel of Christ
-Our FRUIT is the vehicle to spread the gospel and plant new life in fertile hearts!!
-Our FRUIT is meant to be spread around, so that the gospel is spread
-God has shown His creative genius in designing each of us UNIQUELY, to disperse His gospel in various ways and across many barriers, spreading new life both near and far!
Colossians 1:5b – 6: You have already heard about this hope in the message of truth, the gospel that has come to you. It is bearing fruit and growing all over the world, just as it has among you since the day you heard it and recognized God’s grace in the truth.
Romans 12:2 – And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
