What does it take to reach your fullest potential and goals? Can you quickly answer this? I can tell you what it’s NOT: comparing and competing. You see, if you maintain ALL of the extra focus on yourself and what YOU can do better and improve upon, this will give you greater gains that you can ever imagine. Comparing ourselves to others, competing with others and trying to “one up” others will only lead to wasted time, energy and ABILITY.
Imagine if you will, a world where everyone tried to help each other, encourage each other and instead of “pointing fingers” gently turned the finger upon themselves to “assess” what could be done better in their own life. How powerful this would be! Almost overnight you would see much change (POSITIVE and IMPACTING change!). I think one area that needs to be improved on (generally speaking) is the ability of us as humans to LOOK at OURSELVES and seek to be better than we were yesterday, instead of COMPETING and COMPARING.
Think of your yesterday (past)… I am sure we ALL have major things we could improve upon, learn from, grow from and change. Each of us has a unique and special life that was created JUST FOR US. Basically, if we take the time to clean up our own back yard, it would help the whole “community” by our experiences and lessons alone. There is no need to “prove” ourselves to anyone but God and He watches what we SAY, THINK and DO. I think people forget this sometimes. He sees the facade and the games even when we have the world fooled.
Today, I encourage you to lay down those things that are NOT from Him including needless comparisons, unhealthy competition and trying to “one up” the person next to us. You have a whole lifetime FULL of experiences to evaluate and learn from. Improve upon yourself. Try to be better than you were yesterday. Life is too short friends to do anything but.
Here is to challenging YOURSELF to be better than you were yesterday!
~In health and with much happiness,
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down….And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”
